Adaptation for BBC Radio 3’s Drama on 3 by celebrated historian Tom Holland of his own translation of Herodotus’Histories – one of literature’s most extraordinary books of history, crammed with thrills, anecdotes and laconic observation.
Tim Dee’s production re-imagined the tales as a gripping storytelling performance with a live band, featuring Jon’s regular collaborators James Hesford on cello and Fiona Barrow on accordion, joined by musicians from Bristol-based Balkan folk-band Troyka.
